Jezlyn Montas (she/her)

Jezlyn is a senior at Barnard College studying Psychology with a minor in and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, she is committed to supporting marginalized and vulnerable communities. Since June 2025, she has volunteered at BelieveNY, where she supports individuals navigating urgent crises such as mental-health distress, domestic violence, and housing instability. Her role includes helping clients identify and access resources and working with them on their emotional wellbeing through weekly check-ins. Her identity as a feminist and poet is central to her work, informed by her experience co-running poetry groups that create space for reflection and shared healing. Jezlyn is dedicated to understanding mental health challenges through an intersectional lens and she is passionate about research and practices that promote healing and holistic care!
