Hanaan Osman, MA (she/her)
Doctoral Investigator
Hanaan is a first-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Teachers College. Hanaan first joined B-HEAL as a Research Coordinator. She primarily worked on two projects that evaluated the implementation of MISSION-CJ in two Massachusetts treatment courts. She also worked as a Program Manager for Safe Mothers, Safe Children at the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research. Hanaan’s research broadly focuses on addressing health disparities through implementation science. She aims to examine the facilitators and barriers to mental health service engagement among ethnic-minority communities. Specifically, she is interested in investigating how culturally informed intervention strategies, such as storytelling, can be integrated into mental health services to (1) address underlying trauma, (2) reduce substance use, and (3) enhance treatment engagement among ethnic-minority youth.
