Elizabeth Cavic (they/she)

Elizabeth Cavic (they/she) is a first-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at Teachers College who focuses on promoting psychological wellness among LGBTQ+ young people of color. More specifically, their program of research aims to: (1) further develop the minority stress literature regarding LGBTQ+ youth of color, (2) explore how this population leverages interpersonal support to cope with identity-based stressors, and (3) develop multi-level interventions to promote psychosocial wellbeing among this population. Elizabeth completed their EdM and MA in Counseling at Teachers College and their BS in Human Development at Cornell University. On the weekends, they enjoy baking, reading, coaching girls’ basketball, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and learning American Sign Language.
