Dr. Ayorkor Gaba is an Assistant Professor of Counseling & Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she leads the Behavioral Health Advancement Lab (B-HEAL). She also serves as Co-Director of the Equity Division at the Massachusetts Center of Excellence for Specialty Courts. Dr. Gaba is a clinical psychologist and researcher who partners with communities and systems to improve access to and engagement in effective care for people living with substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Grounded in multicultural approaches, she brings a person-centered, systems-focused perspective to research, practice, and training. Dr. Gaba enjoys integrating her love of music, art, and advocacy into her work as well. Dr. Gaba was previously an American Psychological Association appointed NGO representative to the United Nations.
